If you wanted 120 fps for instance but dont have an HDMI 21 monitor or TV then one possible option is reducing the visual output resolution to 1080p and combining it with the right monitor. Unfortunatley its not proper downsampling just a simple downscale so it wont look as good as native 1440p or downsampled 4k. Will ps5 support 1440p reddit.

All TVs support 1080p or 4k but very few support 1440p.
